Just do it 2009
I never revealed the 2009 motto most likely because I have not really be in it. Year 2006 and 2007 were the years that did not only change my life, but changed my perspective. Cliché as it may, but those that have participated or just have heard about the mottos understand the gravity that it carries. And it carries. I anticipate the new year motto usually during the summer, conjuring and ruminating over mottos, questioning what I want to do with my life, what needs to be improved, the typical and necessary questions when the new year comes around. I threw away the idea of the “new years list” because really, who keeps to that? One month later, down the disappointed drain.
So this year is “Just do it 2009,” but really, my lame ass has been at my desk or in my bed while living in Paris. Maybe the expectations were too great, as if I set the bar too high and knew I could not live up to it. I do not really know the reasons, but if anything, I have learned that I do enjoy being solitary. I do enjoy my “Jen-time,” my now I bathe in it. As I reflect on this half year, just do it has been kind of a bust, but the point of it was to really just say yes to everything. Live in the moment, I live in Paris, make the most of it. Basically, a lesser version of “Live it Up 2007.” I was just not inspired at all during the summer or the months leading to the new year of 2009, thus ending up with a half-hearted motto. I borrowed this motto from a friend and was semi-inspired out of the movies “Yes” with Jim Carey (regardless for its quality), but the concept was real and sounded great. To say yes to everything would be a pretty cool and radical change. To really accomplish “Just do it 2009,” I really think I would need someone to pull me out and really show me a good time. I am not capable on my own.
So 2009, even though there is still half of you to live through, let’s make it good.
The motto for 2010 has been chosen and I am quite excited for next year. I will not reveal it quite yet, but I have posted the minimum on my facebook. It carries several meanings and is pretty general, so do not be rockin on motto and think its juvenile. But because it is general it can be very useful and the public may use it at will if they choose the path of the 2010 motto.
